Lou Gall from the GVIA talks about the research at Keytah where four irrigation systems; siphon, lateral move, drip and bankless channel were compared. The research has found that seasonal influences are more significant than system influences, so producers need to strive to optimise which ever system they have.

The research looked at tools and technologies to optimise fields. This included work with IRRISENS and the Padman Automation Management System, Go Field Plus, SISCOweb and EnviroNode IoT tools.
