Improved irrigation system selection and operation for increased sugarcane productivity and profitability

This project aims to improve the irrigation knowledge and skills of sugar extension and productivity staff by building their capacity to measure and assess irrigation systems. Working with sugarcane extension and productivity services, advisors, and researchers the project team have established irrigation innovation training hubs across four sugarcane regions.

A project specific web area has been developed to host participant materials, case studies, information sheets and instructional videos. A virtual classroom workbook and webinar series is being developed, focusing on the “Basics of Sugarcane Irrigation System Assessment”. These resources will be available in 2021.
