Mark Gardner is one of the dairy farmers in northern Vic. working with the team from Agriculture Victoria in the SIP2 project to scale irrigation scheduling to the farm scale. Mark talks about how being involved has been useful to his farm. He has learnt how much water is going past the root zone, and that they were using more than they thought. He has discovered that different soil types need different amounts per bay, so can measure how much is going to be needed for each bay by measuring what is happening on farm.
