Smarter Irrigation for Profit 2

The Smarter Irrigation For Profit 2 brings together researchers and farmers with funding from the Research and Development Corporations (RDC) of Cotton (CRDC), Sugar Research, Dairy Australia, Rice (AgriFutures) and Grains (GRDC). Some of Australia’s best Irrigation researchers from CSIRO, University of Southern Qld, Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, Deakin University, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, Agriculture Victoria, and NSWDPI are involved in the 14 research projects being implemented on 36 farmer led optimised irrigation sites. The project is looking at new and innovative technologies such as canopy temperature sensors, monolayers to reduce evaporation, Irrigation scheduling tools like VARIwise, Taggle Irrimate, SISCO web and IrriSAT. It is working with commercial partners such as GoannaAg, Padman Stops and Rubicon.
The project is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment as part of its Rural R&D for Profit program.
