Sugarcane growers teaming up with researchers as part of the SIP2 program

Michael Scobie and Malcolm Gillies from University of Southern Queensland, Veronica Chapman from Sugar Research Australia and Ian Dart from Bundaberg Sugar talk about building skills of producers and researchers and about learning from research in other industries such as cotton and dairy. The project is part of the Smarter Irrigation for Profit 2 (SIP2) program supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment as part of the Rural R&D for Profit program. SIP2 brings together the irrigation industries of sugar, grains, rice, dairy and cotton, research organisations, universities and farmer groups.
