Benefits of soil probes

Marek Matuszek from Ag Logic, Tasmania talks about the benefits of installing soil moisture probes into farming systems. Probes will provide producers an increased understanding of their soils, water management and the crop or pasture being produced. They are valuable to aid in risk mitigation when faced with either high rainfall events or drought and can be invaluable in irrigation scheduling. Importantly the data needs to be easily accessed and interpreted to help make irrigation decisions in real time. The data from soil probes provide insight into what is happening infield enabling management change based on infield needs.
